GPS Geofencing Setup

Geofencing prevents time theft by ensuring employees can only clock in from within a defined radius of your work site.

Enabling Geofencing

1. Go to Settings → Locations in the admin dashboard.
2. Click on an existing location or create a new one.
3. Enter the physical address. ShiftRova will automatically look up the GPS coordinates.
4. Set the Geofence Radius — typically 50–100 metres for a single building, or larger for a wide outdoor site.
5. Enable Force Location Clock-In in Settings → Global to enforce this on all employees.

Recommended Radius Sizes

• Office / Single Floor: 50–75 metres
• Large Venue / Warehouse: 100–200 metres
• Outdoor Site / Construction: 200–500 metres

GPS accuracy on modern phones is typically within 5–20 metres outdoors. Allow a buffer to avoid false rejections near the boundary.
