Availability Management

ShiftRova lets employees declare the days and times they cannot work. This helps managers build rosters that respect personal commitments from the start.

For Employees: Setting Your Availability

  1. Go to Availability in the app sidebar.
  2. Toggle each day of the week between Available, Unavailable, or Partially Available.
  3. For partial availability, set your available window (e.g., after 2pm on Tuesdays).
  4. Add a note if needed (e.g., "University until 3pm").
  5. Save. Your manager can see this immediately when building the roster.

For Managers: Viewing Availability

When creating a shift, the roster will visually indicate if an employee has declared unavailability for that day — displayed as a greyed-out or striped cell — so you never accidentally schedule someone on their day off.

Important: Availability is advisory, not a lock-out. If an emergency arises, managers can still assign shifts on unavailable days, and the employee will be notified.
