Configuring Pay Rates
ShiftRova uses each employee's base hourly rate to calculate labour costs on the roster and to generate payroll reports.
Setting a Rate for a New Employee
When inviting a new team member, you'll be prompted to enter a Base Rate ($/hr). A default rate of $25/hr is pre-filled — update this to the employee's actual rate before saving.
Updating an Existing Rate
- Go to Team and click the employee's name to open their profile.
- Scroll to the Payroll section.
- Update the Base Rate field and click Save.
The updated rate will be used in all future labour cost calculations and payroll exports. Historical timesheets are not retroactively recalculated.
Penalty Rates
ShiftRova does not automatically apply penalty rates (e.g., Saturday/Sunday loadings). If you need to pay staff at different rates for different days, you can manually set a different rate for specific shifts, or use your external payroll software's award interpretation tools for the final pay run.
